every iPod has an automatic shut off installed that takes effect around 15 min of no changing(button pushing, changing the volume, etc.) if you have an Ipod with a screen just go to settings and change it no not do an automatic shutoff. if your Ipod doesnt have a screen(shuffle) then just raise and lower the volume real fast so it wont shut off.

Can a virus get off a i pod?

Yes, if you download dodgy software or music, it will freeze you iPod, cut out half way through a song and eventually shut your iPod down and then you will have to buy a new one. I suggest scanning all music before putting it on your iPod and by having viruses on your iPod, when you connect to your computer it will pass it on.

This can occur if the iPod was disconnected from the computer when transferring the song, or when the iPod was turned off when downloading a song over Wi-Fi through the iTunes app. Just reinstall the song.
