The nature of laptops is that you usually shut them down when you want to move them, so you're more likely to notice a long update process because you have to sit there and wait for it. If you update a desktop computer, you can usually walk away from it and just let it take however long it takes to shut down.
So part of it is an observational artifact: it's not that it takes longer, it's that you notice it more.
Another part is that laptops are more likely to be on a wireless network, and those tend to be slower than hard-wired networks. This is coupled with the fact that laptops often have lower-power (slower) processors, so it's perfectly normal for a laptop to take longer to perform any given task.
Finally, laptops are often turned off when not in use (a lot of people leave desktops running all the time), and are usually set to update when not in use as well. This can allow a big backlog of updates to build up before you finally choose to perform the update. My wife's old laptop recently got repurposed and brought back into service; there were something like 70 updates pending since the last time it had been updated.
it take long time i think so
Updates take a long time to design, especially major updates like the 1.2.5 to 1.3 update. The redstone update is a huge update, so it takes much longer than the average bug fix or graphics update.
It'll probably take like quite a few patches. I'm not so sure either
So that you can take your laptop home and work on the same work that you did at work,
it might me because the game has so much graphics and information that it cant read the information that fast try doing it on a laptop.
I don't see why not, so long as the laptop meets the games specs.
There is no real 'best laptop', as there is many laptops in the market and it will take a long time to determine which laptop is the best for running Sims 3. However, you could find a laptop that can run Sims 3 quite well ias long as it has a good processor and a good video card, so that the game won't lag or have poor picture quality.
It depends on how big the system update is, as well as your internet speed. Most updates are small patches and minor adjustments that take only a few minutes to update.Bigger updates can take around 5-15 minutes or longer to download so that is why it is recommended that you connect your Nintendo 3DS to an AC adapter so that it won't run out of batteries during the update.
p.s. to clarify: i have snow leopard on my laptop, but only 10.4 on desktop. it costs to upgarde desktop to 10.5 or later, so i wondered if i could transfer from laptop to desktop?
it depends on the company and which shipping you asked for. Most places big compaines can build a laptop in 8 days business days. so take that time plus the shipping you want it can range from 10-11 business days- 13-15 or more
When I plug in my laptop, it does not use the battery to run the computer. Instead, it uses the wall outlet to run the computer and to recharge the battery. So, by leaving my battery in my laptop when it is plugged in, I am recharging my battery and not running it down. If you take the battery out of your laptop and do not recharge it, it will not last long. The computer batteries that I know about can go from 2 to 8 hours without being recharged.
There probably won't be a new Minecraft update for a long time because of the "Pretty Scary Update".
