This can depend on many factors; if you're female, and especially if you've had one or more children, your pelvis may have separated too much during gestation and delivery, or may have "tightened up" postpartum while the pelvic area was misaligned. The good news is that physical therapy is EXTREMELY effective at correcting this and strengthening the exact muscles needed to keep your pelvis/lower back/hips/sacrum in alignment.
