If that happens your car has issuestake it to Volvo specialist mechanic, your car has issues if that realy happens. Ive never heard of that happening( the 2 have nothing to do with each other), but if it is it is a computer problem or a wiring problem. first Volvo 's are one off the worst cars made the problem you are having is the regulator in your alternator junk the car buy a Japanese car
Repairing disc brakes is not particularly difficult, but since this is your first time, I believe it would be smarter to have it done by a professional.
check the vacuum lines leading from the fuel pump regulator if those are not leaking then it could be the regulator itself.
the brakes probably got too hot, due to long and hard braking. Then it is possible that the brakes start to do that. The other problem might be that your brakepads are worn and have to be replaced.
Compared to todays modern brake systems they will feel hard. Also depends on if they are power brakes or not. Some cars of that era did not have power brakes and they were very hard to push.
Does it squeek? Or is it grinding? Possible sand/ gravel trapped in your brakes. Or you need some new pads. If it's during winter and you break hard and start sliding.. then it would be your ABS kicking in.
Very hard
how hard is it to remove a flywheel on 2002 volvo s80
First, please understand that rear brakes do not work as hard as front brakes. The ratio of working is 60% front brakes and 40% rear brakes. Therefore, they do not wear out as quickly. Is this your observation and reason for asking the question? Second, if your rear brakes really are not working, you will experience a longer distance to come to a complete stop. Are you experiencing this? If so, then you really do have a problem with your rear brakes. You will have to check that the brake fluid is flushed (old brake fluid gathers moisture from the air and does not work as well) and you will have to check to see if any of the rear brake parts are "frozen" -stuck in place so that they do not squeeze the brake drum or disk.
