Hi this is simply due to the fact that the speedo cable is spinning so fast and causes a LOAD of static electricity, hence interference with your radio!

The speedo cable should not affect radio reception at any speed. Make sure the radio as well as all other body to chassis grounds are continuous. Use a DVM to test for continuity between radio to chassis, test antenna to chassis to battery ground.
