It doesnt go see a mechanic. I thought my steering wheel was great because it doesnt for me but then i asked my friends and theirs dont either. What car do you have? Mines a lamberguini and my friends are porches and bmws
it shakes to the right or left
It's referred to as Death-Wobble. That's a problem with your steering component's Have someone check your Tie rod, tie rod ends and drag link along with your hub barrings. The wobble will only get worse, to the point of going into the wobble in a curve.
You can't really, if you shake you shake, just try to work with it.
My bet is tires.Death Wobble :(
Sounds like a belt broke in the tire. Need to know what type of SUV.
you have to be more specific for a proper answer... at what speed does it shake?.... 40mph> ? what do you mean mist?
Your tires are unbalanced. You need to get them balanced.
Death Wobble!
== == As the car speeds up the unbalanced wheels start to wobble. The force of the wobble is transferred to the cars body through the steering mechanism. You would feel the shaking first in the steering wheel. It becomes more pronounced as you pick up speed. == == * Front end need's religning, bad tires or tie-rods. * Tires are low in air.
It sounds like it has whats called bump steer. You need to have the camber of the front wheels checked by steering specialist.
Loose/worn steering components. Especially the steering stabilizer shock and the trac bar.
If it shakes all the time it is a tire/wheel problem. If it only shakes when braking then it is a brake problem.
