The wiki.answers.com website has been going through many design changes. These will greatly improve the site, and already have! I'm excited about this, because it means more information for visitors! But it has unfortunately caused problems for some web visitors. We display a lot more images now than we did last year, which can slow down loading of webpages for some people.
Here are some suggestions to try:
- Most PCs allow you to increase/decrease the amount of space on your computer for graphics. Try increasing the space, if you can.
- Consider changing the browser you use. internet Explorer (IE) often drags more, because IE itself is so code-heavy. Try using Chrome or Firefox.
- Perhaps most important-- Become a registered user! Then, you can change the settings in your profile. If you switch to Chrome, you can also download AdBlock.
- Download the free addon, Adblock. It will restrict some of the ads and videos you see. You can have better control over what you see.
- When you visit websites, a version is stored in "Cache" and "History". Make sure to delete both frequently.
- To avoid creating pages in "History", consider using Incognito Tab on Chrome. Tor is another browser that doesn't save pages in history.
- Lastly, DO keep submitting your feedback in the Category, "Questions about wikianswers". We want to know what visitors think and use your feedback to improve the site.
