What does an aquastat do?

Aquastats are thermostats sensing the temperature of the water itself, and are used basically to stop and start the burner by controlling the electrical circuit. The temperature of the water is held within preset limits by the aquastats. As the temperature of the water drops to the low setting, the aquastat closes a contact and starts the burner. When the temperature reaches the high setting, the aquastat opens the contact and stops the burner. There is usually a high limit setting which will open the contact, if it should fail to open on the automatic HI/LO control. This feature can be contained within the same instrument or it might be a separate unit. What temperature should the aquastat be set at for the boiler?

How do you repair a furnace limit switch?

When a typical residential furnace or gas package unit "high limit switch" is found to be bad it is replaced with a new one-not repaired.

What is a high limit switch on a furnace?

This is a switch designated to stop a peice of equipment before it does damage to itself or the surroundings.

What other problem besides the thermocouple would cause a heater not to stay lite?

The thermocouple only keeps the pilot light. Temp sensor, gas valve, high limit switch, safety switch, thermostat, would cause burner not to stay lite. Better to post MFG,model, problem. lenox, model #, ______________________________

On a teledyne laars natural gas pool heater it heats up the water in the spa to about 95 degrees then the burner will turn off the next day it will do the same thing?

Spa not getting to temp? Could be a dirty filter. Could be a high limit switch or other component.

What does a high pressure switch do?

a hi pressure switch will limit the pressure by stoping motion (turn off motor) (unload cyclinder) ect

A element on my stove is turned off but it keeps going on high so i have to turn it off at the wall?

Sounds like you have a faulty switch in that burner knob.

What is the use of tirril burner?

It is similar to Bunsen burner. It is used for high temperature burning.

What is the sequence of operations of gas furnaces?

Thermostat calls for heat. Induced draft fan motor starts. Vent pressure switch verifies pressure. Simultaneously gas valve opens and ignitor lights burner(ignition varies: hot surface ignitor, electronic spark ignitor, or standing pilot). Flame is sensed. High limit temperature switch is made. Blower fan runs. Thermostat calls for no heat. Gas valves close. Burners shut off. Induced draft fan shuts off. Blower fan put into fan delay(fan blower continues to run). Low limit temperature switch made. Fan blower stops.

How do you use gas burner?

The gas burner is used in laboratory to make reaction at high temperatures, to melt materials, for calcination, for burning.

What causes the thrust to change in a solid model rocket?

Fuel core grain. The core is either an end burner (low thrust), core burner (high thrust), or a partial core burner (high thrust initially then low thrust as it transitions to end burning).

What is the main role of limit switches?

The main role of limit switches is to cut off the power to machinery when it reaches the extent of movement that is safe. An example of this is if an elevator went too high or too low for safety measures, the power would be cut off because of the limit switch.
