Well because and like all of us we may likesomeone but we don't know if they like us back so until Sonic tells Amy about his feelings for her she will never know. And maybe... to make us more deep into the game the creators may not want them to be together so that you will buy more games and see if they do end up together get it ... hope you do and hope i could help you with your question :)
