Best Answer

Australia has had one female Prime Minister, which was Julia Gillard. Ms Gillard's popularity plunged during her term, but this is not to say that Australia will not have another female Prime Minister one day. as for why Australia does not have one now fe currently, no woman is a leader of a major political party in Australia, so ungil that happens, there cannot be a female PM.
