It is possible the trunk latch has been tripped with trunk up. Use your key fob/remote trunk release on inside and pop trunk. Now try and close. Please let me know if this helps.
The only way to pop the trunk is with your key or the button on the key fob
Push the button. Use the electronic /remote door/lock opener. Use the key. Or use the toggle on the counsel inside.
Most Honda/Acura vehicles have a lever located near the fuel cover release that actuates the trunk release, if it does not fuction it may need to be unlocked using the master key for the car, the valet key will NOT work.
On the panel behind the driver's seat there is a key hole. You put your key in it and turn it and it will pop the trunk open.

With the car and the wireless transmitter you also get a key. With the key you can pop open the trunk and on the left in the trunk is a door release cord. All you have to do is pull the cord and the door will pop open. c
How about hooking up jumper cables, which can be done under the hood, and let the alternator of the charging vehicle provide the unlocking power? Use the metal key that slides out of your keyless remote if it has one and unlock the trunk manually where the release button is on the trunk. That's how it is on my e320 if it's the same.
Insert your door key into the keyhole on the trunk. Turn left 90 degrees, and either push in the key, or remove the key and use your finger to press the keyhole button. The trunk lid will pop open. Remember to lock the trunk by inserting the key and turning 90 degrees to the right so the key hole opening orientation is vertical.
most of the time if you pop the trunk and look at the latch on the trunk itself you will see a defeat switch to disengage the trunk from opening without a key
if you cannot open the trunk with the key, remove the rear seat and crawl through to open the trunk from inside.
Answer:yes, or at least it SHOULD be the same. if not then you will need to get your trunk re-keyed unless you got a trunk pop button or a different key.
