It is likely that Word thinks the text of your document is a different language than what you think it is.
Open the document that has this problem, press Ctrl+A to select all of the text, click on "Tools" then "Language" then "Set Language" then choose your language, un-check the "Detect language automatically" and "Do not check spelling or grammar" boxes. Then click OK.
Click F7 to re-run the spelling and grammar checks.
I assume you're talking about Microsoft Office. Open up the preferences and see if you changed any corrections or spellings or grammar settings.

At the moment you cannot add any spellings to the WikiAnswers spell-check dictionary.
