North of the Arctic Circle one would experience a period of 24 sunlight, but one may go to quite a bit lower latitudes and still experience 24 hour, then virtual 24 hour light. While Aberdeen, at 57 deg N, surely gets some darkness, you are in the 'virtual' zone.
