At first the tribe does not unite and revolt against the outsiders for several reasons:

  1. A culture of respect towards outsiders.
  2. The example of Mbanta, where the villagers killed a man, and then the village was slaughtered by the white men.
Later on, the tribe does not unite because they tribe is not united. Some of them have converted to the new religion, go to the colonists' schools or are in the colonists' employ.

Finally, the tribe does not revolt because they are afraid to fight. They know the power of the white man, and most would prefer to talk instead of fight. They do not feel the necessity of fighting.

In "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe, the tribe doesn't unite to revolt against the outsiders because of conflicting interests, lack of unity among the clans, and the influence of the white missionaries causing division and discord among the people. Additionally, the traditional customs and beliefs of the tribe prevent them from organizing a unified resistance against the colonial powers.
