It's against the Word of Wisdom, which is kind of like mini-commandments.
There are thought to be ill health effects connected to the acid and caffeine that are in them.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) follow a health code called the Word of Wisdom, which was revealed by God to Joseph Smith. Part of this code prohibits the use of "hot drinks" which was later defined by President Smith as coffee and tea. Some Mormons today will drink herbal teas and drinks such as apple cider and Hot Chocolate, but will not drink green, black, or iced teas or anything containing coffee.
