The reason members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) do not swear or cuss is because of teachings found in The Bible. Verses such as Ephesians 4:29 "Let corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." ; Colossians 3:8 "But now ye also put off... filthy communication out of your mouth" ; all of James Chapter 3; etc. explain that unkind or foul language is inappropriate and unacceptable to God.
