Is happiness a goal?
personal opinion happiness is not a goal, it is a decision. It is difficult to accept but there are many, many things in a lifetime we endure without realizing we are actually allowing someone else to control an aspect of our lives or we are allowing ourselves to accept something as true or false when the truth is they are neither. Let me explain that concept a little further. Right now, bullying is recieving a great deal of attention as it should. Unfortunately, a large part of bullying (I have experienced a lot of it when I was young) is simplyaccepted rather than being thought about and dealt or ignored. The sad and tragic suicide of the 14 year old girl might have ended diffderently if she had decided to confront the torment by telling her parents who might have gone to the authorities. Unfortunately, she apparently decided to accept the torment and believe what was she was being told. Bullying, name calling, dissing and other anti-social behavior is a personal decision the tormentor makes. Whether to believe, accept, confront, ignore, internalize or the taking of other choices is the personal decision of the tormentee. Abraham Lincoln ic credited with the following quote, "Peol are about as happy as they decide to be." From experience can tell you it true.
