Actually, you may be surprised to know that babies do inhale amniotic fluid! It's just not the type of inhaling you would think it'd be (like inhaling air). The baby drinks the fluids as well as inhales it because that's how they test their lungs and stomach and everything else. This is also the reason why doctors will make the baby cry when it's born (to get the fluid out of the baby's lungs). Hope this helps.
