Buzzards are scavengers, and do not hunt for food like birds of prey. They lack the agility, and strength of their talons to hunt. Buzzards on the other hand, have tremendous eye sight, and sense of smell. The stronger the smell, the easier it is. Buzzards rely on the oder of a dead animal to guide them to their meal.

An animal that has been electrocuted, or (cooked) so to speak, would most likely not give off the same oder that buzzards would be attracted to.
