I've heard that men are afraid of lesbians. See Answers.com question "Why are men attracted to lesbians?"
Maybe because they think that women need a penis to have fun, like men need a vagina to get off (most of the time). But actually women prefer a wide range of sensations, and maybe they are afraid of women's sexual power in that way. It's just a theory.

Lesbians may very well be grossed out at the thought/sight of penises, but this is not at all the same as being terrified. Lesbians are not afraid of men or of their physical anatomy. They would just prefer if it not be touching them.

They are not. This line of thinking is a result of straight men fetishizing gay women because they prefer not having men in porn, for fear of accidentally seeing/being turned on by a penis and, god forbid, having a Gay Moment of their own.
