Answers on WikiAnswers are not always long; it depends on the person who answers it Sometimes the question requires it. Most questions cannot be answered in one word or phrase (as with this one). To boot, often the questions are asking for opinions; many different people add their opinions. Many general questions can have long answers like which tooth brush should I use or who is mr roger's neighborhood because there's a lot to explain on the answer Some answers don't need much explaining like could Chuck Norris beat Adam Sandler in a fight or what is the tallest skyscraper in the world. The questions with the smallest answers are questions that can be answered with a yes or no.
Some people will put stupid answers in deliberately or do some other things with answers, but the vast majority of answers are given by people who know what they are doing, who use the site as it is intended to be in a responsible manner, and so give very good answers to the questions asked. There are also people working to fix or remove the stupid answers and other things that people put in that should not be there. Just as there are irresponsible people in any aspect of life and on the internet, you will get them on WikiAnswers, but they are by far the minority. Most people here that answer questions are sensible, responsible and intelligent people, who put in correct answers.
Well math questions and other questions that rely on facts should not be, but the opinionated questions are because they come from all different types of people.
