Because not everyone is aware of the history and traditions of the church that Jesus established and passed on to His disciples.
The Orthodox Church follows these traditions and teachings of Jesus and has done so ever since the year 33 AD. However, so many different Christian groups have set themselves up in recent centuries and have lost the history and traditions of the one true church that Jesus established 2,000 years ago.
Jesus said, "I will build My church" (Matt: 16:18). The church is also the special place where God is worshipped and people can receive Holy Communion which is essential for eternal life (John 6:53-54). The Church is also necessary for our salvation: "the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved" (Acts 2:47).
Unfortunately, not many Christian groups follow the teachings of Jesus, and many of them have changed the traditions completely in recent times. The Orthodox Church has stood fast in the faith and preserved the traditions that were handed down by Jesus through His disciples. "Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught..." (2Thessalonians 2:15).
some people just goto church to hang out with friends you know what i mean
Jesus sent out his disciples to set up Christian churches, so I suppose Jesus started Christianity.
Jesus Christ's apostles and disciples and John the Baptist were Jesus' first followers. God showed them the truth and they followed Him.
The Vice Lords started in 1958 & the Gangster Disciples started in the 1960's............so VICE LORDS started first......
Jesus Christ the savior started Christianity with his life, his cruxifiction, his death, his conquering, and his resurrection. The Apostles and Disciples and Missionaries keep seeking to help people receive salvation and get connected to God.
dis dick
The first Christians were, if you believe the bible, Jesus's disciples, so Christianity began the year Jesus started teaching. If you count 0AD as Jesus's birth then about 20/21AD
Technically yes. Christian in its most basic form means, Christ-like. Jesus Christ to christians was God in the flesh on this earth. We believe that Jesus was fully God, and also fully man, he had to be both to be able to be our saviour from our sins. Jesus is considered one part of the trinity that is our God. Whatever Jesus started, his disciples and other believers have continued since his death and resurrection. So, his disciples were a huge part of really getting the Christian church started.
It is not clear when the practice of catechism started. Catechumens were mentioned in the Letter to the Galatians by Paul the Apostle whose date was uncertain. It is likely that catechism started early, but developed slowly as the Christian doctrine developed and the need to ensure that the disciples understood it before baptism increased.
Japan started having their own traditions during the 800s
In the Christian theology, history started with the Creation of the Universe by God and will end when the prophecies of the Book of Revelations are fulfilled. However, it is not clear what exactly the Book of Revelations predicts, nor what God will do after those prophecies have come true.
