Why don't space aliens make contact with us?

No aliens are actually known to exist. No hard proof at all, just stories.

Space aliens may have already made contact with us, there is no way to know for certain that they have not. The chances are good that they haven't, since they can travel through space, and that seems to indicate an advanced society. Therefore, an advanced society might not want to contact us at our stage of development. We after all, are a fairly worrisome group when we need to be. They might be waiting for us to reach a level of intelligence greater than we are now, so we would have a better understanding of their technology. Maybe they would want to wait for us to obtain some unknown level of social understanding, so we could adapt to their society easier. It may be a matter of simply, we are not who they were seeking, or we are, and they came only to watch. There are many reasons that a far advanced race, capable of traveling the stars might not contact humans, each stranger than the first. But don't forget that they might be your next door neighbors, and would we really know. If they are truly space aliens, then we have no way of guessing, and we might be talking to them now.

We don't know for sure there are any aliens *to* contact us. No hard evidence at all, not even one strand of alien DNA. So far, it's all just stories, myths, tall tales. And no matter how high you stack those, they never become evidence.

Some claim that aliens are a classified subject insofar as the government is concerned. To date, no one has turned up any proof of this.

The universe is large, which makes other life seem likely. But likely is not proven. Someone has to be the first form of sentient life, and there is no actual proof it isn't us.

There is as much evidence that unicorns exist, as there is that aliens do. Bear in mind that anecdotes are not evidence, no matter how many anecdotes you stack up. Since no aliens are known and proven to exist, there is no point in worrying about their failure to contact us.

It's a big universe, but someone somewhere has to be the first form of sentient life, and there is no proof it isn't us.
