I have the same problem with my 1990 Olds Cutlass Calais, 5 speed. I've noticed that if I force the Reverse gear into the bottom right corner of the pattern, the lights will turn on. Open trunk and pull carpeting back from the rear lights and you will see wing nuts, take the wing nuts off and pull the complete light assembly out to change the bulbs.
The 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass cam sensor is located on the back of the left cylinder head. The cam sensor should be labeled as such.

i had the same problem, and it had to do with one of the wires that go from the battery to the fuse box, just move the wires a bit, and the lights should come back on

Look above the brake pedal on the rod that holds the pedal. There is a button that engages when you depress the pedal to activate the lights. Your parts store will have a replacement and can show you how it is attached.
grab the end of the key sticking out and pull straight back.
