Why get circumsized?

there is in reality no good reason to get circumcised. the reasons that are stated are they are done for religious reasons such as that done by the Jews, fur cultural reasons as in the Muslims it is also done for celebrating the onset of manhood a right of passage tradition. In English speaking society's a tradition has begun that now persists mainly in the united states where many claims are made that there are health benefits to the procedure. a claim that fly's in the face of every European country medical fraternity and most of the rest of the world. so keeping this in mind one would be reasonable in presuming that there is no sensible reason for being circumcised and that it is in fact harmful and in the case of children in fact a violation of human rights. he same human rights that protect women from being genitally mutilated.

there is no reason for being circumcised. there are no health risks involved in the intact penis and any claims that there is an added risk of attaining STD's has long since been proven wrong. there is absolutely no reason for thinking that keeping the intact penis clean can be a problem. We don't cut of our feed because we get smelly feet do we?

People who get circumcisions do so for cultural or religious reasons or it is forced on them while they are children and unable to make an informed decision about the procedure. but other reasons are aesthetics, easier hygiene, and decreased risks for certain diseases.

The majority of the men of the world have intact genitalia. and reasoning does not come into it. they don't need to think about cutting a piece of their genitalia any more then they need to decide whether to cut of an ear, the thought is ridiculous to them.

You should weigh the pros and cons for your particular situation and them make the choice you feel most comfortable with.

Circumcision is only required under very rare circumstances and the automatic removal of the foreskin damages the remaining genitalia over time and will lead to poorly functioning genitalia.
There is no good reason for being circumcises as a mater of fact the foreskin is an important part of the penis and has a lot to do with the pleasure that can be gained in sex as well as many other things. circumcision is a barbaric religious tradition that one would expect to be carried out by a witch doctor not educated and enlightened people.
There are very few reasons where the foreskin needs to be removed. could be if non surgical treatments for phimossis have not been successful or frostbite. Often it may be removed if injured but often this is done by American doctors who view it as easier to remove and not worry about it. Very rarely is there a true medical reason for the surgery.

I was circumcised as a child, and I am currently taking steps to restore my foreskin. Strange right? but worth it to me and thousands of others. Most boys in America are circumcised, and many in other certain areas too. But as is mentioned above, there really is no true medical reason for doing it, and I know a lot of males that wish they had not been circumcised. (There are thousands in restoration communities alone, plus the ones that just wish it hadn't happened but aren't restoring).

On another note, hospitals make millions by selling foreskins to research centers for skin grafting for burns, experimentation, etc. So that is probably one reason hospitals in America like doing it so much, it's (last I checked) over a $600million industry here.

It was done to set them apart from the lower classes. The Jews copied their former masters and said it was done on instructions from god. there are various dispirit tribes around the world that also practice this form of genital mutilation. However the largest number of circumcised men by far are those that belong to the Muslim religion. No mention has ever been made that the practice was engaged in for reasons of cleanliness in the writings of these peoples. A Small percentage of those that are circumcised claim that there are hygiene and health benefits involved however there is no evidence that this is so. Less then 20% of the worlds men are circumcised. and get along just fine with their penis glans protected as it should be. The idea that there is a greater risk of STD infection is a myth and can be easily demonstrated by the increased infection rates among circumcised men as compared to intact men.
Pros of circumcision:

1. decreases risk of urinary tract infections in infancy

2. decreases risk of penile cancer

3. decreases risk of sexually transmitted diseases, including female-to-male transmission of HIV

4. decreases risk of Cervical cancer and some infections in female partners

5. prevents balanitis, phimosis, and paraphimosis

6. creates easier genital hygiene
The main medical benefits of circumcision is that it reduces the risk of developing certain diseases including but not limited to HIV, HPV, penile cancer, cervical cancer in female partners or anal cancer in male partners, balanitis, phimosis, paraphimosis.
when a guy is circumsized there is no extra piece or coat of skin around the penis which to me makes the penis look "better"
