Any nation that is powerful, has a lot of personal freedom, and challenges terrorism is a target for terror attacks. In some ways the United States has helped terror to exist by providing help, training, and funds to groups that are fighting for "freedom" from abusive governments. The Taliban is a perfect example of this. In the 1980's Bin Lauden was trained by the United States military to fight the Russian troops in Iraq. The result was the Taliban and when in the United States went into Iraq they created a vacuum of trained soldiers without work and they grew into Isis. There is a cause and effect for all actions in history and politics.
