I think tourism has grown because of the improved technology, for example, the invention of aeroplanes has made it easier for people to travel, furthermore, flights are cheaper and more people are able to afford holidays abroad and free time.
The tourism industry has become more inclusive and global. Air travel has made it possible for people to visit different regions much faster and easily.
It hasn't really "grown", but in terms of sea level rise, there has been a little bit. Sea level has been rising by a couple mm/year, so that would be a couple cm in the last 10 years. It has really not expanded in area though.
