Why have Texas not executed Lawrence Russell Brewer or John King?

They are White! Pure and simple as that! They have been on death row 13 years, and Texas normally executes prisoners in 8 year. Some of Bush's doing. If you are Black, you get done right away. Actually that is incorrect, the murderer has about two hours and 45 minutes left to live as of 21 Sep 201 1515 (that's 3:15 pm civilian time) he will pay the ultimate price for a senseless murder. BTW don't think you will see to many white activists claiming racial bias for executing this guy. Most will say good riddance and when will the next one go.

AnswerNo. Brewer's trial was moved to Brazos County. He is still on deal row, but trying for an appeal. John King (partner in crime of the dragging death of Mr. Byrd) also received the death penalty, but the 3rd party Mr. Berry received a life sentence. One good thing that came out of this hideous murder is that laws are being changed in race/hate crimes and particularly dragging deaths (more than one has happened). Unfortunately, the KKK and others who believe Brewer, King and Berry shouldn't have received such a harsh penalty for killing a black man, have desecrated the tomb stone of Mr. Byrd.

If you mean James Byrd Jr., He was an African-American who was dragged to death behind a pickup truck by White supremacists on June 7, 1998. He was age 49. This heinous act helped lead to the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act.Shawn Berry (age 24) knew Byrd from around town and was driving the pickup. John King (age 23) and Lawrence Russell Brewer (age 31) were also in the pickup. However, Berry didn't take Byrd home. Instead, the three men took Byrd to a remote county road out of town, beat him severely, urinated on him and chained him to the pickup truck. Then they dragged him for approximately 1.5 miles. Brewer and King both showed no remorse and were sentenced to death. Brewer was executed on September 21, 2011. King is still on death row. Berry is in protective custody and won't be eligible for parole until June 7, 2038.
