There are more people unemployed than there are jobs right now. Industries have relocated out of the country and businesses do not want to hire anyone because it costs a lot and taxes are high. Businesses are choosing to work with smaller staffs rather than hire people to replace those who were laid off or left.
There are many reasons for unemployment. Relocation, downsizing, lack of education for present position and in some cases laziness on the part of the person looking for a job.
why have been un employed for such a long term
Unemployment in Cambodia from 2001 to 2008 was primarily caused by factors such as limited job opportunities, insufficient education and skills training, political instability, and lack of foreign investment. Additionally, a large proportion of the population working in the informal sector contributed to the high unemployment rate during this period.

It depends on whether you were already receiving unemployment, and if not, then it depends on the reason you had relocated.
The truth is always the best policy. Explain the actual reason for your unemployment and you might be surprised with the outcome. Lying about the reason may expose you to unemployment fraud (a felony in most states)

No. I was denied benefits for the same reason in October 2012
If you meet the qualifications for unemployment, then you can file for the unemployment benefits. These requirements do not include anything about owning a separate household from your parents. You just have to have lost your job for a reason that is not your fault and there are salary/work time requirements but they vary by state.
