What do people like about horror movies?

I watch them NOT because of gore and guts but because thrillers, like take Stephen King's "Carrie" for example. Some are really goodMany Horror films have a very good plot, villian, and storyline like Carrie. But others have very bad storylines like Creepshow 3. Another reason people watch horror films is because they have a very good moral to it, like "Tales From The Crypt: Only Sin Deep episode starring Lea Thompson. Besides if you don't like horror there probably is one out there you will like and I can promise you that!

It's hard to say because everyone is different. Personally, I love horror movies because i like getting scared. But even if the film isn't that scary, i like it because it's fun to watch people react in strange situations. you can really see the fear in the actors eyes and it makes you think 'what would i do in that situation?'.

what I'm trying to say is people like watching horror film's either because they wanto to gets scared or they want to see what's going to happen to the characters. if you know everything that's going to happen in a horror film it takes the fun out of it.

The appeal of horror is to be scared. To face your fears and not back down. Some people like the fantasy world it creates and the good conquering evil. Some just like the gore because it gives them a cheap thrill. The appearl to horror is different for everybody and depends on the individual.
