If hydrogen had a neutron, it wouldn't be hydrogen; it would be deuterium. If it had two neutrons, it would be tritium.
Hydrogen-1, sometimes call protium, because it is only one proton. This atom is has an abundance of more that 99.98%.
Firstly an atom does not have to have neutrons to be an atom.
Secondly there are other isotopes of hydrogen that do have neutrons
T
An isotope of Hydrogen Apex:)
Deuterium is an isotope of hydrogen. It has one proton and one neutron in its nucleus, compared to regular hydrogen which has only one proton. Deuterium is slightly heavier than regular hydrogen and is often used in laboratory experiments and as a tracer in scientific studies.
Normal Hydrogen has one proton. The isotope of Hydrogen called Deuterium has one proton and one neutron. The Isotope of hydrogen called Tritium has one proton and two neutrons. All isotopes of hydrogen have one electron.
Tritium, n., A radioactive isotope of hydrogen having an atomic mass of 3.017 and a nucleus composed of 1 proton and 2 neutrons. Its halflife is 12.26 years and it decays by beta decay to Helium-3. Tritium is normally only produced synthetically on earth by placing sealed pellets of Lithium in the neutron flux of a nuclear reactor.
Hydrogen-1, (there is a trace of hydrogen-2 (deuterium) found in nature, and hydrogen-3 is an artificial isotope)
Heavy water contain deuterium, a hydrogen isotope having one neutron.
deuterium
Tritium is an isotope of Hydrogen. It still has one proton, but it also has two neutrons. Deuterium is also an isotope of Hydrogen. It has one neutron.
Hydrogen-2. That is hydrogen isotope 2. It is commonly called deuterium.
DEUTERIUM ,it is 2nd isotope of hydrogen atom .It contain one proton and one neutron in its nucleus and one electron in it outer most shell . It is also known as (heavy hydrogen)
Deuterium, it has 1 neutron and one proton.
T
Hydrogen does not have any neutrons unless it is the isotope deuterium ( 1 neutron) or tritium (2 neutrons)
There is no such atom but it would be called hydrogen 1+ ion
D is deuterium, or 2H. An isotope of hydrogen with a neutron in addition to the proton.
Heavy water, D2O contain deuterium in lieu of hydrogen. Deuterium,D is a natural isotope of hydrogen with 1 proton and 1 neutron; hydrogen,H has only 1 proton.
