There are probably many more than I am going to stet here but the most obvious one would be Country size and population difference, NZ is small and not heavily populated. NZ is also doing a lot to control pollution, is Nuclear free and doesn't interfere with the politics of other countries.
Many different water problems in NZ. City water supplies are difficult in some parts, and sewage disposal is in a poor state generally. Water for irrigation is hard to find in some areas, and leads to salination of the soil if the evaporation rate exceeds the application rate. Pollution of waterways from poor farming practices is a problem in many areas, and industrial waste disposal likewise. Where I live, in the Southern Lakes region of NZ we have many very clean bodies of water and we must work hard to keep them that way.
