The issue is that messianics are not Jewish, but rather, Christians who incorporated Jewish traditions (although with Christian concepts replacing the Jewish concepts) in an attempt to convert Jews to Christianity. Various messianic groups literally spend millions of dollars a year in this attempt and mainly target the elderly and the very young.

Nowhere in the world are messianics considered Jews by any Jewish group.

How many Messianic Jews are there in Israel?

answer:There are approximately 8,000 Messianics living throughout Israel. However, a true count is almost impossible as many Christian evangelical groups are now referring to themselves as Messianic Jews.answer:There are approximately 8,000 Messianic Jews known to be living throughout Israel. However, a true count is almost impossible for several reasons, INCLUDING THAT:Many Messianic Jews are considered to be Non-Messianic Jews by the Israeli government. [Supervisor's note: The Israeli government has no such designation as "not religious".]Many Patrilineal and even Matrilineal Jews are already not considered Jewish enough to be counted as Jews. Couple that and their Messianic Jewishness, and they are left all the more uncounted as Jewish. [Supervisor's note: Israel doesn't recognize ANY patrilineal Jews as Jewish]

Are Christian-born Messianic Jews recognized as Jews by the State of Israel?

No. Messianics, as a whole, are not regonised as Jews by the State of Israel. This includes those who were born to Jewish families but converted to Messianic Christianity. The Supreme Court of Israel has clarified that Messianic Judaism is a form of Christianity and as such Messianic Jews do not qualify for the Right of Return.

What does messianic Judaism rabbi mean?

What is the difference between Messianic Jews and Orthodox Jews?

The Orthodox Jews continue traditional Jewish beliefs and ways of life. They believe that God revealed the laws of the Torah and the Talmud directly to Moses on Mount Sinai. They strictly observe all traditional Jewish laws, including the dietary rules and the laws for keeping the Sabbath. Orthodox Jews pray three times a day daily. The men wear hats or skullcaps at all times as a sign of respect to God. Messianic Jews are Christians with the majority having no Jewish heritage whatsoever. They adopt some Jewish practices but apply Christian beliefs to them.

What is the difference between Messianic Jews and Baptists?

Baptists are a specific Christian denomination. Messianic Jews can be adherents of any or no Christian denomination. Note that the consensus among most Jews is that Messianic Jews are actually to be considered as having relinquished Judaism. The primary difference between Baptists and Messianic Jews is that Baptists observe traditional Christian holidays such as Christmas, Easter, and Pentecost whereas Messianic Jews observe Jewish holidays such as Shabbat, Passover, and Rosh Hashanah, but they do so with a bent towards Christian interpretations of those holidays.

Who are you if you are Jewish but do not follow Judaism?

If you consider yourself Jewish but do not follow Judaism, holding to no religion at all, then you are a "secular Jew". A significant proportion of Jews are secular Jews. Some Jews have adopted a form of Christianity and consider themselves Christian Jews or Messianic Jews.

What is the difference between Messiani and Christian?

The only difference is that Messianic Jews believe that even though they converted to another religion, they are still Jewish in their hearts. No Jews who practice Judaism believe that Jesus is the Messiah, and in fact, do not even believe in the same definition of the word Messiah, while Messianic Jews and Christians are waiting for Jesus's second coming. Most Messianic Jews still perform certain rituals and traditions of the Jewish holidays, while believing in their application to Jesus Christ. Messianic Jews are not recognized as Jews by either Christians or the Jewish community. Furthermore, Messianic Jews do not qualify for immigration to Israel under the Law of Return. Messianic Jews do not participate in inter-denominational Jewish events or news publications. Studies in the 1980's show that the children of Messianic Jews do not identify as Jews at all, because they are not raised with a strong rabbinic tradition; rather, they see themselves as purely Christian.

Who or what are Anti- or Counter-Missionaries?

Anti- or Counter-Missionaries are staunchly-Non-Messianic and ardently-intolerant Jews who believe that any Jew who believes in the New Testament (called the Brit Hadashah by Messianic Jews) has become a gentile or was never Jewish enough to be Jewish in the first place. Anti- or Counter-Missionaries zealously believe Christianity (including Messianic Judaism) to be kofer(apostate), and will even lie about Messianic Jews and Messianic Jewish organizations to push the Anti-Missionary cause and proselytize Judaism.Anti- and Counter-Missionary lies include but are not limited to:Jews for Jesus is a spinoff of the Southern Baptist Convention (whereas in reality, Jews for Jesus is a fully-independent, 501(c)3 Messianic Jewish organization founded by Martin "Moishe" Rosen, who happened to denominationally be a Southern Baptist at least at one point in his life. Moishe Rosen was also raised an Orthodox Jew in Denver, Colorado).Congregation Yeshuat Yisrael in Franklin, Tennessee is a spinoff of the same (whereas it is actually also independent and just Messianic Jewish by denomination).Messianic Jews are like Hitler, trying to wipe out the Jewish population.Messianic Jews are like the Crusaders, Pogromists, and Inquisitors.Once a Jew believes in the historical and Biblical Jesus of Nazareth, he or she is no longer a Jew.Most "Messianic Jews" are or were never even Jews (which takes and twists the fact that some number of self-identifying "Messianic Jews" are indeed gentiles who falsely-- whether unintentionally or maliciously-- label themselves as Messianic Jews once they become denominationally Messianically Jewish or part of the spinoff "Hebrew Roots" movement).Anti- and Counter-Missionary organizations include Jews for Judaism and JewFAQ. Anti- and Counter-Missionary individuals include Traci Rich (JewFAQ), Skylar Curtis, and answer.com's own Divorah.Non-Anti-Missionary and tolerant Non-Messianic Jews include Michael Medved and Dennis Prager.

How were Messianic Jews treated during 1938-1945?

Messianic Judaism did not exist prior to the 1960s. The question is therefore unanswerable. However, if Messianic Jews had existed in the Nazi-Occupied Empire, they likely would have been persecuted. Firstly, they claim to be Jewish (regardless of how other Jewish groups see them). Secondly, the Nazis persecuted minority Christian movements that had particularly unique customs like the Jehovah's Witnesses.
