the investigator only changes one variable in an experiment because they need to see how that one variable reacts. if you wanted to see how the dependent variable changed but changed the independent variable you would not see how the one variable reacts.
This variable is chosen by the research team according to the experiment project.
Well in the case that it does have a variable, even just one, it would still be a variable experiment because that one part of the experiment may still cause a different effect/result when changed!!!
