The government SHOULDN'T censor the internet. Is there something wrong with them?!Or is the USA's economic trouble making them dizzy or crazy? The majority of the world uses the internet on daily basis. It helps people with all sorts of jobs, e-mails, and information. Maybe they should just block the inappropriate and/or shock websites, but other than that, the Internet is a great resource and has some useful info.
It should not. Information should be freely shared.
May argue the Internet should be filtered in order to protect 'the children'. While there are dozen if not hundreds of malicious/predatory sites.. there are companies that are willing to sell you filtered internet access. However, (aside from legal issues) no one person or group should control what another is allowed to view or access.
The above answer does not consider all the ramifications of the prevalence of crime on the Internet.
There is no safe place on the internet. It is a good thing to protect ourselves from dangerous and illegal content on the Internet. It is a bad thing when that protection is forced upon us. History is littered with examples of governments attempting to control the personal lives of the population, and none of it has ever ended well, e.g. Prohibition in the United States last century.
What is needed is a solution that will enable criminal activity to be tracked and blocked. A large number of people continue to be victims of phishing schemes, fraud and stolen identities. Something is needed, just as the police are there to protect ourselves and our property, and enforce laws which are for our safety.
An internet filter system should be voluntary and opt-in, allowing people who wish for protection to be protected, and those who fear that Big Brother is watching them (which is something of a knee-jerk reaction) to simply opt-out.
They ought to but it can't be done and be enforced too. It's up to the parents to block the sites they don't want kids to see or even sites wives don't want their husbands to see!
no, because it would be next to impossible to block something, and then it becomes a forbidden fruit and shows up everywhere.
It should because it is like real life. Full of danger. But it really is all your choice.
Noobs like you.
no
There are some things that are illegal on the internet, such as child pornography. Those kinds of things are censored, when they are found by those in law enforcement.
Russia recently enacted the "Law of Lugovoi" to unilaterally block access to any website on the internet. It is reported that 63% of Russians support Internet censorship.

Some form of censorship will always be with us and is necessary to protect the vulnerable.
Yes it should be censored. Because most times it can o to the extreme without truth.
A. were a threat to morality and should be censored
Censored is the correct spelling.
Answer this question… governments' worries about its use as a tool for political change.
