First, this question repeats a common but discredited myth. ACORN was not a "communist group" nor did it ever have ties to communism. It also was not "anti-American" nor was it "socialist." It was an organization that advocated for poor people, and it had branches all over the country. At a couple of those branches, there were some issues with corruption, which were widely reported. But other than a few bad apples, there actually was no credible evidence that ACORN was "evil." In fact, it helped many low-income people to find jobs and get education and housing. But to this day, even though the organization no longer exists, conservative websites still continue to demonize it. It should also be noted that Barack Obama never organized with ACORN, nor was he a trainer, nor an executive for them. These assertions are still found on certain websites, but they are false.
another answer:
Barack Obama did some work for "Project Vote", when he was organizing low-income people in a successful voter-registration drive in 1992, but ACORN was not part of Project Vote. In his capacity as an attorney, Barack represented ACORN in a successful lawsuit alongside the U.S. Department of Justice against the state of Illinois to force state compliance with a federal voting access law. For his work helping enforce the law, called "Motor Voter," Barack received the IVI-IPO Legal Eagle Award in 1995. (For more about Barack's career, check out the link below.)
No, it was actually socialist and barely even that. It was communist in name only. The type of "communism" that was in Russia bore no relation to communism as Karl Marx defined it and as Lenin promised.
George Orwell isn't against communism. He actually was a communist. He was against the fascism that the Soviet Union essentially became.
Cuba has actually never been truly Communist. They are actually closer to being mixed socialists. However, if you are American, your teacher is probably looking for the answer "Fidel Casytro and Ernesto "Che" Guevara", even if they were not members of the Communist party during the revolution.
There are no Socialist countries in Asia, nor could there be. Socialism is a classless stateless society based on production for use, and would have to exist on a global scale, with no countries or borders.
PC is actually the opposite of what it states to be, it actually singles out the individual or group from the rest of society. Take hyphenated names like African-American or Mexican-American, if you are a first generation immigrant then I suppose it would be okay to refer to yourself as such but I am an American no matter where my family originally came from. PC was "invented" by liberals and falls in with a socialist or communist agenda. PC is a big part of the problem with the US today.
they are officially communist but they arent actually communist
no the soviet union fell b/c they realized not everyone wants to be communist (that's the reason they put the Berlin wall up) answered by: Katie Stanley !! Actually the Soviet Union was communist. Under communism there is NO govt or religion. The Soviets were strong socialist.
There were several Russian socialist parties in 1918. The main one was the Bolshevik Party, which renamed itself the Communist Party in March. There was also the Mensheviks, who were the remnants of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party after the Bolsheviks left that party. There also was a party named the Social Revolutionaries. Note that even though the Bolsheviks called themselves Communist, they were actually imposing a socialist, not a communist form of government at that time.
No he was not. He was actually Italy's first dictator
Yes. It's a communist military dictatorship
Italy is actually a democratic republic but they do have socialist programs.
There are actually two different definitions for the acronym AONE. One is actually the American Organization of Nurse Executives. The other acronym stands for Access Developers Inc.
