Why is Answers dot com so full of useless answers to questions?

It's because some get a kick out of it. Those are usually called trolls in the internet fashion, however that doesn't make the definition of an internet troll. The purpose is the same though. Annoy someone who wants an answer just for personal fun at either stating the obvious or an otherwise useless answer.
Reason number 2 would have to be that after someone has given an useless answer it wont be in the list of unanswered questions and thus wont get a proper answer.

People answering the questions might be too busy to give a full answer, or they are trying to answer as many questions as they can, and doing it quickly.

Sometimes yahoo answers can be very helpful. But sometimes is can't, because most of the time people like to full around on it. My advice if you want to play around on it I would suggest the category "Entertainment and Music; Polls and Surveys" it's pretty fun on that category. But back to the question, my main answer is 50,50. But really it matters who answers your question.
