It is an interesting way to customize gameplay, by basing some content on something that is specific to a user. Reportedly, different kinds of train passes can be used in the game. No news on if, or how, it will translate over in the US though.
This is a cool idea, and it reminds me of some of the old Monster Rancher games where you could insert CDs into the game to generate a monster. I remember my brothers and sisters had literally every CD in the house stacked up in the living room, and we were trying each one and taking notes and putting labels on them for the future. It was so exciting to be able to discover in that way, and have things in the real world work in the game. I think that is some of the draw of things like Swarm and Pokemon GO as well... the intersection of real life and video game, and the joy of discovery that isn't just pressing the "A" button over and over again.
