Ecaudor... Equator.... Sound familiar?
very hot, because it is situated on the equator.
Ecuador is a unique country because despite its tiny size, it has many different climates! The Galapagos are a volcanic island chain, and are generally warm but windy. The Coast of Ecuador is generally quite warm, to the South it is quite marshy and humid and to the North it is drier. The Andes of Ecuador, called "la sierra", is perhaps the hardest climate to predict. Because of the high elevation, the air is very thin. So when the sun is out and there is little wind, it can be quite hot. But if it is overcast, or if there is a large amount of wind, it can get very, very cold. The Amazon region of Ecuador, called "el oriente", is a rainforest. It is hot and humid, with frequent tropical rains.
