Well I don't know if this works all the time but I tapped on the Combination control ( the thing that the main gas line comes in to with the switch for the pilot light is on) that thing and my furnace lit up. Like I said don't know why or how it worked but it did! Good luck

Where is the furnace pilot located?

The gas furnace pilot (flame is lit all the time) is sometimes referred to as a pilot light, but no matter what you call it, its purpose is to serve as a small ignition flame for the gas burner. And when this little flame fails to operate properly or go out, it's one of the most common reasons a gas furnace will fail to operate.

What is pilot gas in a furnace?

Pilot gas is the very small flow/burner used to maintain an ignition flame in a gas appliance. Sometimes called a pilot light, or pilot flame, it's used to ignite the main burner.

Which of the following components is engrized first after intermittent ignition gas furnace call for heat?

Where is the furnace located to light pilot light?

It could be different for every house.A side note: I'm taking that you mean where is the pilot light located in side your furnace? Depending on the of your furnace it's very possible your furnace does not have a pilot light, in fact it may have an ignition system with a flame management sensor. Try this; turn off the system with the main electrical cutoff switch, wait for about 2 minuets, turn on the switch raise the temperature of the thermostat high enough for the furnace to come on, this should work if it does not try one more time. If that fails call a HVAC & R technician.

Why wont your forced air furnace come on?

Here are some things to check. Is the thermostat turned up? Sounds silly but I went into many homes it was turned down, or the switch on the thermostat was turned to off Is the pilot lit? This assumes you have a standing pilot furnace. If it is spark ignition, does the park cycle start. Check all fuses and breakers

Where is the thermocople located on the furnace?

At pilot light, pilot light flows around thermocouple.

Why does the pilot light in your furnace go out?

Defective thermocouple or possibly a dirty or clogged pilot orifice.

What causes the pilot light to keep burning out in a furnace?
