FM stands for frequency modulation and AM stands for Amplitude modulation.
In FM, frequency of a modulating signal is modulated using carrier frequency i.e. more data can be transmitted using a little space and also it is safe to transmit the information while in AM amplitude of a modulating signal is modulated using carrier frequency i.e. more space needed for transmitting the information.
That's why we use FM in place of AM
One of the main differences between satellite radio and FM radio is that there is a cost for satellite and FM is free. Satellite radio also does not operate using the same numerical AM and FM channels as FM radio.
The weather seems to be a big factor. If it is rainy or windy, your satellite channels may go in and out.
One can buy satellite channels by turning to companies that sell satellites. They are the only companies that can help someone who is trying to buy more satellite channels. One would also need a satellite dish.
Nature creates AM noise (static) so FM is clearer
No to first question. I'm a dummy on the other problems here.
Freesat installation allows you to self-install a satellite receiver to your TV to get access to free satellite TV channels. These channels include a variety of HD channels.
It looks like you are hooked up to Direct TV satellite
Only Satellite Channels. Terrestrial Channels are only analogue.
"Satellite tv channels that are good for toddlers include Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and the Disney Channel. Not all of these channels are necessarily available with each satellite tv provider. The onscreen guide will help you determine which ones your satellite provider may carry."
The key benefit of satellite radios over standard FM radio is the clarity of sound. There is also the possibility of obtaining more stations via satellite than normal radio.
One main advantage is, generally speaking, the sounds on FM channels is generally clearer.
FM also known as frequency modulation is preferred because of the more concise ability to transfer quality sound at the expence of distance. Also FM is not as severely effected by weather as its lower frequency AM counterpart.
