Frances Buss Founded the North London collegiate school in 1850, this was a private school with maths and latin included in the curriculem. She believed that woman had the same intllect as boys and encouraged girls to compete for civil service, enter examinations and continue to higher education. In 1871 this school becamase a grammer school because she wanted to offer education to girls who couldn't afford to pay for private school.
