The Abraham Lincoln penny was minted in 1908 to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of Lincoln's birth. In 1907, President Theodore Roosevelt chose portraitist and sculptor Victor David Brenner to design the penny, probably because he admired Brenner's previous works of art. Those works included a bronze relief plaque bearing a portrait of Lincoln. Brenner adapted this design for the "heads," or obverse side of the penny. He based the plaque on a photograph of Lincoln taken on Feb. 9, 1864 by Anthony Berger. Lincoln faced right in the photo, so he faces right on the plaque and faces right on the penny. A wheat penny is any Lincoln cent that was made between 1909 and 1958. The back of a wheat penny says, "One Cent", and it has a picture of two ears of wheat on either side of these words. Earlier (Indian head) cents and any cents dated 1959 or later aren't wheat cents.

The head's side of the penny is heavier because, the indentions on the head's side happens to make it slight heavier but I have tested this project out and it is not a myth it is head's.
Side-facing bust of Abraham Lincoln on the "heads" side, and Lincoln Memorial on the "tails" side.
A trick question - - - The technical term "heads" refers to the front or primary side of a coin, so being really picky about things, ALL coins have only one head. But - - - Lincoln cents made since 1959 have a portrait of Lincoln's head on the "heads" side and a very tiny image of his statue inside the Lincoln Memorial on the "tails" side, so you can also say that the coin has 2 heads, if you mean Lincoln's head and not the coin's head!
