Abraham Lincoln Was Important Because He Freed The Slaves From The South,And Fought For Their Rights
There are many reasons, he was probably one of our best and most loved presidents, I myself am an admirer. He brought us through the civil war, he did his best to avert the war. He kept the bloodshed as low as he could. He was merciful and forgiving. He was a christian, he was a very honest person and he was a great speaker. Sadly, his second term was cut short 5 days after the civil war ended, he was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth.
I think if you asked Lincoln himself he would tell you that the preservation of the union would be his most important contribution to American society.
Because he signed the Emancipation Proclamation rendering slavery illegal in the USA.
