Mary was the mother of Jesus and as such is revered by the Catholic Church. Mary was a righteous woman and was chosen vessel of God to be the mother of Jesus the Christ. No other woman has been so blessed.
She is also a holy woman.
From Muslims view:
The virgin Mary (God be pleased with her) is the mother of Jesus (Peace be upon him) and is considered in Islam as the lady of all ladies of all worlds. In the Quran, there is a complete chapter (or Surah) titled 'Maryam' (Mary) that confirms Maryam virgin birth. The Quran states the following on the birth of Jesus (peace be upon him):
{(Remember) when the angels said, "O Mary, God gives you good news of a word from Him (God), whose name is the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, revered in this world and the Hereafter, and one of those brought near (to God). He will speak to the people from his cradle and as a man, and he is of the righteous." She said, "My Lord, how can I have a child when no mortal has touched me?" He said, "So (it will be). God creates what He wills. If He decrees a thing, He says to it only, 'Be!' and it is."} (Quran, chapter 3, verses 45-47). Refer to question below for more information.
1. Without Mary, Jesuswouldn't be alive. If Jesus wasn't alive at that time how would have Christianity and the words of God be told to man?

The Blessed Virgin Mary was the mother of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In a special way, she is mother of the Church, and the mother of each Christian, as Christ said to St. John from the cross, "Behold your mother."
The Blessed Virgin Mary is the new Eve. She is the only human being, other than Jesus Christ, who was born not subject to Original Sin, and who remained sinless throughout her life. She was the only human being who was perfectly subject to God's Will throughout her entire life. She was the mother of God, giving birth to the divine Savior of mankind, and ushering in our salvation and justification. She is the Medatrix of all grace, and mother of the Church and all the faithful. She is our intercessor who says nothing other than "follow my son", or as her last recorded words in the Gospel have it, "Do whatever He tells you."
Because she was the mother of Jesus, however, some hold her in too high regard
She is so important because she was chosen by God to be the mother of his son, Jesus. She accepted the position and challenge despite the heartbreak and sorrow she knew it would bring.

Saint Joseph is important to the Catholic Church as the foster father of Jesus Christ and the husband of the Virgin Mary. He is considered the patron of fathers, workers, and the universal Church. Saint Joseph's humble obedience to God's will, his role in protecting and providing for the Holy Family, and his example of faith and devotion make him a significant figure in Catholic tradition.
