It's important to the U.S. because it gives us more space. We use NATO to have contacts and support from other countries as well as the help from them if we get attacked. I'm going to jump to my first sentence real quick. It gives us more space. How? Well one way is that we can us some of their space to store some of our equipment or men. NATO's also good because we gain new knowledge, religion aspects, and technology.
For the Romanian people is not important; for us it is a very dangerous and costly option.

NATO allies are the memeber states of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (such as Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the UK and the US). US Allies is a looser term that can apply to any states friendly to the US, whether or not they are in NATO.
