There has not been a data study as of this time to figure out the average temperature of North America. This maybe due to the fact that yearly the temperatures can change drastically as well as during seasons.

It is both, just depends on the location. Northern states and Canada have very severe cold weather, while the central and Southern states have a mild climate. Wyoming, USA winter temperatures can dip to -60 degrees F. Death Valley, CA, USA has recorded a high temperature of +134 degrees F.

North America is warmer in summer and colder in winter because of Earth's revolution around the Sun. North America is located in the Northern Hemisphere, and in summer, the Northern Hemisphere is directly facing the Sun, therefore warming North America. In winter, North America receives little sunlight, because at this time the Southern Hemisphere is directly facing the Sun, so the Northern Hemisphere receives less sunlight. Hope I helped :)

North America has both hot and cold weather. The farther north you go, the colder the winters are. The farther south you travel, the hotter the summers are.

It depends on where you are and what time of year; Death Valley in the summer is hot. Alaska in the winter is cold.

Why is winter solstice not the coldest time of year?

Earth is getting colder at that time. It does not immediately start getting warmer once the winter solstice is passed. It can be up to a month later, before it begins, so the month after a winter solstice is cold. For the summer, it is the same, in that the Earth keeps getting warmer for a time after the summer solstice, so the warmest temperatures are after the summer solstice, before the cooling process starts.

Where is it warmer in December Australia or US?

Because the two countries are on oppsite sides of the planet. In winter, the northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun - making our climate colder. At the same time, the southern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun - making Australia's climate warmer.

What do seasons cause?

As the seasons change, they cause the weather to change also. For example, if the season is Winter then the weather will be colder because in Winter the Earth is facing further away from the Sun. But if it is Summer, then the weather will be warmer, because the Earth is closer to the Sun, making the atmosphere warmer.
