Remembrance Day is an important holiday because it is a time for everyone to reflect and remember all the people who suffered and died at war. They were all fighting for our freedom. They all wanted us to have a future.

Canada, for one, celebrates Remembrance Day.
Unfortunately it is not
Remembrance Day stopped being a holiday in Ontario in 1989 although it is celebrated in other cities in Canada. Many citizens of Ontario want the holiday brought back.
It became a holiday because of all the soldiers who gave their lives and used this day as a remembrance day (British answer).

Remembrance day is important because we need to have a chance to remember the soldiers who fought for us.
Remembrance Day was designated a public holiday in Ontario in 1931, but it was removed as a school holiday in 2015. Since then, schools are encouraged to recognize the day with educational activities, but it is no longer a mandated day off for students. The change aimed to align with the broader approach to holiday observance in the education system.

Armistice day became a nationa holiday in 1954. The named was changed to veteran's day when that happened. Armistice day is also known as remembrance day.
