She is respected because when she was on a bus a white man told her to move (Back then when whites told blacks to move they had to) but she said no so she was arrested. Because she did that they started boy cots which are pretty muching saying not to do whatever but in this case it was not to go on the bus ( For African Americans) and that's when they allowed africans to sit where ever in the bus. That is why Rosa Parks is respected.

She spoke the voice of many African Americans who probably did not have the courage to say no to the bus driver to give up her seat. She was sometimes known as the "Mother of the Civil Rights Movements" because of her sense of leadership and justice.
Because many people believe that she was one of the main instigators of the Civil Rights Movement in America. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat for a white passenger even when the bus driver ordered her to do so. I believe this was in 1955 but I may be wrong. The story goes that on a rainy day a few years before 1955 a bus driver (again unsure, but I think his name was James Blake) took Rosa's money for the bus fare and asked her to re-enter the bus through the rear entrance which was for 'coloureds'. When Rosa got off the bus to re-enter, the bus driver then drove off leaving Rosa in the rain. When Rosa again got the bus in 1955, Rosa recognised the bus driver as the same one who had left her in the rain a few years before and was therefore pre-disposed to be less than compliant with his already unfair requests.
She was a courageous lady who made a stand- however small- in order to try and get her voice- as well as other people who were oppressed- heard.
She was ordered to give up her seat on a bus purely because the person who had just got on the bus was white. That took a lot of courage, as she could have been - and was - arrested because of it.
because she stood up for what she believed in and refused to sit in the back of a bus when a white person wanted to sit in her spot because she was colored
because she refuse to gve up her seat and thats when they finally reconize colered peope
