Why is Samoan tattoo so important?

Actually, I researched this question when I was researching Samoan cultures. When I typed in "ta..." tattoos would always come up. Well anyways, to get to the point, I never got a clear answer. But what I did find out was that European came to Samoa a while ago. When they found out that Samoans were getting tattoos they just declared that tattoos were important. And even before that, there were these woman that sang a song. It naturally went like "Tattoo the women and not the men." but these woman changed the song and sang "Tattoo the men and not the Women." And just some other questions I could answer for you:

-What are the values in Samoan Culture?

Faith, Family, and Music.

-Traditional Dances?

Actually I don't really know the name, but it is a fire dance. It's like the dance you see in Lilo and Stitch. How they dance with fire. (I believe)

-Taboos?

Oh, um, taboos?? I'm going to have you research that by yourself. There are a lot. If you research, you are going to find a bunch of websites with taboos.

-What is the capital of Samoa?

Apia.

-Did women have their own little government and such?

Yes, they did.
